Session 149 – “The great shovel VS spade debate”

• Failed to solve the twelve doors puzzle

  • Opened one after another until we had all the treasure

  • And until another passage opened

  • Found room with a sarcophagus and six statues

  • Accidental fireball demolished the room

  • Acid-filled undead came out of sarcophagus

  • Used the slime that had been stored in the statues to destroy the undead

• Followed a hidden passage under the sarcophagus

  • Found another room with a sarcophagus

  • Killed the undead and found lots of treasure

Summary

• Continued down corridor

  • Fought a figure who stepped out of a wall painting

  • Attacking the painting on the wall helped defeat the being

• Found a triangular room

  • With some apparent hidden door and a pedestal

• Corridor turned back and went further downs

  • Ground turned to sand

  • Found some undead in the sand, too many to kill

  • Crossed the sand via rope

• Reached another chasm

  • Noticed above our heads the original bridge

  • Another corridor on other side

  • Used ropes to go downwards the chasm to another area below

• Entered corridor and reached a crystal wall

  • Apparently full of maggots behind it

• Went up/down the chasm to avoid undead that had come after us

  • Reached other side of chasm

  • Another triangular room

  • A sealed off area (via crystal walls)

  • Apparently filled with acid on the other side (like some undead were leaking)

• Shattered the original crystal wall via arrow shot from distance

  • Set the flood of maggots on fire

• Continued the passage

  • Found a room with two statues

  • One of a dwarven man in an aggressive position

  • One of a dwarven woman holding a cornucopia full of treasure, food and other goodies

• Continued into a room with twelve doors

  • Large carving on ground (depicting the same figure we had seen throughout this dungeon)

    • Some silhouette behind the figure

  • Image on our entry door showed six dwarven woman and five dwarven men

  • Assumed that behind six doors would be treasures and behind five would be combat

  • Door twelve was the one we entered through

  • Found two of the treasure doors, and one of the combat doors

 

Session 147 – “Widdling while walking”

Summary

• Solved the door riddle by shining sunlight and moonlight on it

• Found a corpse on the other side

  • Picked up an axe head that Aelorya attached a handle to (it’s a magic axe)

• The way split into the “Path of sons” and the “Path of daughters”

  • Of course we obeyed and split by genders

• Found a pentagonal and a hexagonal room respectively

  • Both had pedestals

  • Nothing of interest, so we moved on

  • Behind us some walls opened up and we were followed

• Reached an ornate hallway (where both groups met up again)

  • Fought a group of undead dwarves that had followed us

  • Had some weird maggots in them that tried to bury into some peoples skins

• Setup a base camp and started to explore the mountains

  • Discovered giant eagles

  • Saw something hunting giant eagles

    • Later revealed to be a great white dragon

  • Encountered a cyclops, scared it away before it could eat our ponies

• Camped at night

  • Via moonlight and magic light activated the map

  • Folded itself and flew away

  • We chased after it

• Reached a crest in the mountains

  • Map had landed there and wanted to go down

  • We started to dig

  • Found some rocks with dwarven writing: “Keep away”, “Son”

    • Soft agreement not to mess with each other

    • Crossed a half broken bridge and reached a door

  • She was worried about soldiers roaming around (bandits as well as knights of the empire9

  • She agreed to make us envoys

  • At night, ghostly eyes entered the palaces and started to search

    • Presumably it’s the Ambers searching for Isadora

    • We left the next day

• Headed south back home

  • Met Feradic again, he was as useful as always

  • Found some signs of an excavation (maybe a month ago)

    • Didn’t stay to investigate

• Reached Aeloryas home

  • They weren’t happy about her joining us

  • Told her to keep following us

• Returned to the keep

  • Walls had been repaired, monastery sealed off

  • Delf and Araxis were still around

  • We talked about hiring more people

• Went to the border keep

  • It had been fully repaired and expanded

Summary

• Sounds at night lead us to a drainage system

  • A series of buckets that went via a tunnel underground to keep the dungeon dry

  • Manned my undead operating a crank

  • Climbed down the tunnel to second layer of dungeon

• Started to explored and discovered the hatchery

  • Thousands of eggs, that were about to hatch

  • Managed to get out of a stand-off with lizard folk by threatening the eggs

• Continued and found a huge cave with a boat

  • Expected this to be the cave of the reptile god

  • Used the boat to cross the cave

  • Escaped the indoor spell of the reptile god and swam to the island

  • Started fighting

  • Had to free some of our allies from some form of charm effect that kept them parallelised

  • Others tried to pull a bag over the reptile god, so she couldn’t use that effect again

  • Managed to kill her in the end

• Found lots of treasure (see list above)

• Escaped the dungeon

  • Destroyed the dyke and the drainage system to flood the dungeon

  • Returned to Orlein

  • People who had turned now had reverted to normal

  • Everything seems to have worked out fine
