Summary

• Looted the dead cultists

  • Took their amulets as proof for Sir Aravan

  • Found two maps

• Returned to hobgoblins and received gold as reward

  • Left their caves

• Storm in forest remained

  • Asked the centaurs if there was something special in the center of the forest

  • They lead us to the Great Hawthorn, an ancient treant

  • Fought off some undead deer

  • We tried to communicate with the Hawthorn, but it didn’t respond

  • It became aggressive and started to walk

  • We retreated and returned to the camp of Sir Aravan

• Talked to Sir Aravan

  • He promised to mention us when he returned to the keep on the borderlands

  • We decided to stay a few days to recover

• The Great Hawthorn and other treants appeared

  • Attacked the shrine Sir Aravans people were building

  • Fighting was pointless

  • Treants started to destroy the shrine (a boulder)

  • We and Sir Aravans group retreated

  • Sir Aravan decided to return to the keep

  • We decided to continue our journey to the place mentioned on the second map

Summary

• Went on a trip to the north

  • Searching for the silver princess

  • We got to keep the gold though

• Discovered an ominously evil cloud

  • Saw it attack a crow mid flight

  • Found a wounded elf woman named Velin

  • She told us about people from the south that came here

  • They build a shrine and fought over it

  • Seems they caused something that is responsible for the cloud and other bad things

    • Dead animals everywhere

    • Things seem to lose colour and die

  • Started to head towards the shrine

• “Centaurs” attacked us at night

  • Initially Velin said they are friendly

  • But seems they were overtaken by some parasitic plants

• Discovered a healthy tree in a clearing (the surrounding woods were sickly)

  • Tried to inspect the tree

  • Surprise: It’s evil and attacked

  • We burned it down and moved on

• Continued towards the shrine

  • Discovered some armoured men in yellow/white tunics

  • We had seen such people back at the borderlands keep

  • We hadn’t approached them yet

• Arrived at the place of the guardian

  • Torm and Nigel didn’t arrive with us

  • Dan angered the creature, it attacked and we fled down some stairs

• Arrived at a flooded cave

  • Lured half a dozen skeletons out of the water and defeated them

  • Valis went swimming to explore the lake

    • Too wide for a rope

    • Stairs end under water

    • Valis almost got lost in the cave

  • Considered the cave a dead end

• Returned to the guardian

  • Agitated it, it started to approach us

  • Retreated to the stairs

  • Dernard used magic wand, the guardian started to grow

  • We jumped into the water before it could attack

  • Seems the guardian exploded, because it was gone after we returned

  • Opened the stone chest

• Returned to the shrine to rest

  • Saw somebody in the altar room

  • Thought it was Torm and attacked

  • Was the demon guard though

  • It created magic darkness

  • Dan convinced the demon it was all Nigels fault

  • The demon left

• Returned to the place of the guardian to rest for three days

  • We were in very bad shape

• Returned to the shrine, and teleported back to the tower

• Tried to teleport to the mountain, but it didn’t work

• Got attacked by the mage and the archer we had fled from before

  • Dan used the teleporter at random

• Ended up going to the dungeon

  • Dungeon was mostly abandoned and little of value left

  • Found a ladder up

• We assumed the dungeon was under the tower

  • So the room above would contain three trolls

  • This was correct

  • Managed to fight off one of the trolls

  • Other two trolls got dealt with by Dernards magic wand

    • With a large amount of luck involved

• Managed to climb up back into the tower and fled

  • Stayed the night in one of the outer towers

  • Managed to return to Shackle Keep

  • Home, sweet home!

 

Session 91 – “The particle-wave theory of Nigel”

• Nigel almost swallows and suffocates on a coin

• Returned to the second teleporter

  • Torm triggered something in the altar room before

  • The ruby Nigel had taken turned into a monster we fought

  • We tied Torm up better up

  • Used the teleporter and moved on to the next place
