Session 102 – “We almost made pasta today”

Summary

• Declan stumbled across our group and decided to join us

• We re-entered the cave

• We returned to the hallway of doors

  • Theandra headed towards one door

  • Inside was an old kitchen

  • Filled with red ghosts that didn’t interact with us

  • Food was still fine

• Theandra lead us up the stairs into the upper palace

• Followed a servant (not a ghost) into a room with brandy

  • Asked for an audience with the silver princess

  • Servant fetched somebody else who we talked to

  • Learned that other people had arrived recently

    • People in dark robes

  • We told our story and more people were fetched

  • Larks and guard captain Travis

    • Retold our story again

    • They told us the leader of the dark robed people was called Aravan

    • The same name as the leader of the imperial soldiers we had met near the treant forest

• They brought us to the other visitors

  • We threatened them and made it clear we will stop them

• Tried to lead Larks and Travis down to the basement

  • They got transparent

  • The effect of the “curse” seems to be stronger down there

  • We returned to the upper floor

• Later we had a banquet with the silver princess and her household

  • This included the cultists

• Larks showed Dernard his laboratory

  • Larks didn’t want to talk about Yarin when he was asked

• We got some rooms

  • Later that night we got attacked by shadowy tendrils at night

  • We assumed it was caused by the cultists

Session 101 – “Valis puts his hand there”

Summary

• A small group went ahead to scout the cave

• Encountered various smaller dangers (like purple moss and slimes)

• Found a silver ring in a slime pit

  • Managed to open a secret door with the ring

  • Discovered a magic harp that (immobile, so we couldn’t move it)

  • Harp had to strings, but we still could play it

  • Theandra told us about a legend of Ruina the harpist

    • Not sure if related to this harp though

  • Fought off a spectre and gained a magic sword

• Found some clay vials, not sure what their content is

• Advanced towards a semi-transparent door

  • Adventure ended in a hall full of such doors

  • Followed the path back to the first hill

• The door

  • Smeared blood on the door, didn’t help

  • Valis got repelled trying to teleport, saw a room, and smelled some plants

• Visited the centaurs in the south

  • Tried to reach the hawthorn tree, to end the corruption of the forest

  • Got repelled by an army of treants

  • Convinced Yuticus to meet his brother (Thorvil)

  • They reconciled

• Thorvil lead us to a clearing

  • Told us to go counter clockwise to reach the fae

  • Dasid wasn’t able to enter

  • Kaya warned us not to eat or drink anything

  • She immediately drank what was offered

  • Made some deals that probably shouldn’t have been made

Session 98 – “It’s a fucking door”

Summary

• Tried to deal with the door in the statue room

  • Destroyed all statues

  • Touched the door a bunch of times

  • Elves (but not half-elves) and dwarves together could touch it

• Continued travelling

  • During one night our camp fire flared up for no apparent reason

  • Another night a section of the magical barrier seems to have dropped somewhere

• Encountered centaurs

  • Barely avoided a fight

  • They thought we had killed their friend Rothgar

  • He had been burned

  • Didn’t know more about silver princess

• Lead us to their sage Thorvil

  • Thinks the silver princess is a myth

  • If anybody knows it might be the fae

  • If we help him mend the rift with the other centaurs he helps us talk to the fae

  • Sent us to look for Ryans friend Yuticus

• We returned to the door … no progress

Summary

• Looted the dead cultists

  • Took their amulets as proof for Sir Aravan

  • Found two maps

  • One of the current area

  • One of another area that Theandra recognized

• Returned to hobgoblins and received gold as reward

  • Left their caves

• Storm in forest remained

  • Asked the centaurs if there was something special in the center of the forest

  • They lead us to the Great Hawthorn, an ancient treant

  • Fought off some undead deer

  • We tried to communicate with the Hawthorn, but it didn’t respond

  • It became aggressive and started to walk

  • We retreated and returned to the camp of Sir Aravan

• Talked to Sir Aravan

  • He promised to mention us when he returned to the keep on the borderlands

  • We decided to stay a few days to recover

• The Great Hawthorn and other treants appeared

  • Attacked the shrine Sir Aravans people were building

  • Fighting was pointless

  • Treants started to destroy the shrine (a boulder)

  • We and Sir Aravans group retreated

  • Sir Aravan decided to return to the keep

  • We decided to continue our journey to the place mentioned on the second map
